ExxonMobil Aromatics Technology Support Engineer in Baytown, Texas

Job Role Summary

The Aromatics Technology Support Engineer provides process engineering support to Global Aromatics sites.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Address the aromatics technology needs for the Global ExxonMobil Aromatics Plants manufacturing activities

  • Lead and support troubleshooting efforts, support new project start-ups and technology activities during scheduled maintenance periods and provide input to HAZOP and Reliability studies

  • Assist sites with process optimization studies as well as with scoping / screening / development of improve projects

  • Generally serves as Project team member during early stages and leads development for technology basis memorandum

  • Implement technology-based improvement and projects, work with the manufacturing team to develop site-specific integrated improvement plans, facilitate new technology transfer and champion opportunities for new technology deployment at the site

  • Support global network activities including best practice evaluation and implementation, peer-assists and knowledge sharing

  • Train and mentor young Engineers in the various aspects of Aromatics technology

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university

  • Must have more than 5 - 20 years of experience in providing technical / operations support to Petrochemical plants, preferably Aromatics plants

  • Proficiency in Chemical Engineering software including PROII, HTRI etc.

  • Proficiency in MS office applications

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Good oral and written English communications skills

  • This position may require travel
