ExxonMobil Plant Information Engineer in Baytown, Texas

Job Role Summary

Responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of Honeywell Uniformance and Siemens XHQ (DV - Data Visualization) systems and related applications to support efficient plant operation. The Plant Information Engineer (PIE) is primarily responsible for local system / application configuration and works closely with the EMIT Support organizations and local System Engineers in system / application trouble shooting and problem resolution. The PIE promotes the use of the Uniformance / DV suite of applications within the plant, and supports the user base working through data access and issues with End-User tools

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze Honeywell Uniformance (PHD and Business Flex Suite) and Siemens DV applications, toolset efficiency, health and productivity and act with appropriate action to maintain their productivity, efficiency and health

  • In depth configuration, data management, integration and problem solving for systems according to business requirements:

  • Level 4 PHD. e.g. Tag configuration, RDI’s, Virtual tags, Desktop tools

  • Business Flex / Dynamo. e.g. Plant Reference Model, OIOMOL (Operations Instruction, Operations Monitoring, Operations Logbook) Suite

  • DV. e.g. Schematics and View Building

  • Related Applications and Reporting Tools, e.g. SSRS, Limit Repository

  • Provides interface between Uniformance and other plant Systems e.g. Level 3 PHD, Laboratory Information Management Systems

  • Custodian of Uniformance/DV applications

  • Handles S&C (Security & Controls) responsibilities

  • Identify / communicate on required system enhancements / upgrades / usage

  • Participate in systems hardware and software upgrade planning, development and implementation with ExxonMobil Information Technology (EMIT)

  • Provide interface with EMIT help desk and remote EMIT support organizations for Uniformance / DV problem resolution

  • Contribute to application enhancement activities, support global initiatives such as Data Lake, Wireless Monitoring

  • Provide training to end users in the tools for process monitoring

  • Participate in central or local testing of new application and releases

  • Participate as member of Manufacturing Plant Information Network

Job Requirements

  • Minimum education:

  • Associates degree in Instrumentation, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Electronics, Computer Technology, or Electronics Technology

  • Position will require the candidate to have or develop technical expertise with Honeywell Uniformance (PHD, Business Flex and Dynamo), Siemens XHQ (DV) products or any new applications introduced

  • Position will require the candidate to have or develop knowledge of related Business Work Processes

  • Good Experience with Windows, Office (Excel / Access), VB / VBA

  • Experience with using and querying Oracle & SQL databases, not administration of the database

  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN
