ExxonMobil Process Technologist in Baytown, Texas

Job Role Summary

  • Conduct polymerization runs, analytical tests, and sample workup to support Process Research

  • The open position is located at the Baytown Technology and Engineering Complex and is based on an 8 hour work day

Primary Job Functions

  • Run and maintain lab scale autoclave polymerization reactors

  • Use and maintain a dry box for catalyst prep

  • Use mechanical skills to problem solve reactor issues

  • Analyze polymer made via MI, MFR, DSC, and FTIR

  • Interface with Ph.D. Engineers and Chemists daily

  • Calculates, analyzes, and interprets data

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline and relevant work experience

  • Experience running autoclave polymerization reactors

  • Experience using a dry box

  • Strong mechanical skillset

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Capable of safe, reliable, and independent laboratory work given framing of problem and regular direction

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to learn new techniques as needed

  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions

  • Concern for accuracy and precision

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong Excel experience
