ExxonMobil Refinery Business Coordinator in Baytown, Texas
Job Role Summary
This role will be a technical resource for the Baytown Refinery and responsible for supporting safe, reliable, and profitable operations. This position will be located in Baytown, TX.
The business coordinator uses engineering and economic fundamentals to support the long term vision of the complex through project economic support, leadership of initiatives, and day to day mentoring of refinery coordinators / schedulers. The business coordinator maintains a working relationship with 3Ps and the ExxonMobil Supply Organization to ensure all future projects / initiatives fits within the capability of the sites logistics.
The ideal candidate for their role will use their experience to also support in a more senior capacity after onboarding and in future roles. These additional responsibilities may include leading initiatives to debottleneck refinery logistics, stepping into a leadership role over inexperienced process engineers, and building the strategic vision for the site.
Primary Job Functions
Comply with Safety / Health / Environmental policy
Build detailed runouts / volume balances to assess future refinery logistics
Build forward looking runplans and projections to aid in scheduling refinery feedstocks / products
Improve logistics of marine and pipeline movements into and out of the refinery
Understand unit and general plant economic drivers to effectively implement daily optimization
Support advancement of the long term strategy of supported units
Plan logistics for unit turnarounds and outages
Develop economic cases for long term unit improvements / projects
Maintain working relationships with third party terminals / service providers
Mentor less experienced engineers / coordinators
Complete detailed economic assessments for future project investment cases
Job Requirements
B.S. in Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering backgrounds
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience. This includes experience in a manufacturing / operating plant environment, and/or supporting refining or petrochemical facilities
Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Greater than 5 years of work experience in a refining manufacturing environment
Experience in refining operations
Experience with feedstock or product scheduling
Experience with economic modeling or advanced scheduling software
Demonstrated capital project development experience or process engineering experience
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Able to demonstrate leadership, initiative, teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness and self confidence
