ExxonMobil Refinery Coordinator in Beaumont, Texas
Job Role Summary
This role will be a technical resource for the Beaumont Refinery and responsible for supporting safe, reliable, and profitable operations. This position will be located in Beaumont, TX. The Coordinator uses engineering fundamentals to schedule refinery feedstocks and products, determine the most economic way to run refinery units, and interface with third parties and the ExxonMobil Supply organization. The Coordinator provides day to day optimization support to the unit and works closely with the process engineers and extended business teams to ensure profitable operations. The ideal candidate for their role will use their experience to also support in a more senior capacity after onboarding and in future roles. These additional responsibilities may include assisting with economic support during the project development stage of large capital projects, planning large refinery outages, and leading initiatives to debottleneck refinery logistics. This also includes future mentorship of less experienced engineers and contribution towards their development.
Job Role Responsibilities
Comply with Safety / Health / Environmental policy
Maintain detailed runouts / volume balances to monitor inventory positions
Build forward looking runplans and projections to aid in scheduling refinery feedstocks / products
Coordinate marine and pipeline movements into and out of the refinery
Understand unit and general plant economic drivers to effectively implement daily optimization
Support advancement of the long term strategy of supported units
Plan logistics for unit turnarounds and outages
Develop economic cases for long term unit improvements / projects
Maintain working relationships with third party terminals / service providers
Mentor less experienced Engineers / Coordinators
Read and comprehend linear programming modeling results and translate into refinery signals
Job Requirements
B.S. in Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering backgrounds
Minimum 3 years relevant work experience
Experience in a manufacturing / operating plant environment, and/or supporting Refining or Petrochemical facilities
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Greater than 3 years work experience in a Refining manufacturing environment
Experience in Refining operations
Experience with feedstock or product scheduling
Experience with economic modeling or advanced scheduling software
Demonstrated capital project development experience or process engineering experience
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Able to demonstrate leadership, initiative, teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness and self confidence
