Job Role Summary
ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI), located in Clinton, New Jersey, is accepting applications for an Exposure Scientist position located in the Health and Environmental Sciences Division. EMBSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the ExxonMobil Corporation and has experts in Human Health, Environmental Sciences, and Product Stewardship positioned globally to provide integrated support to ExxonMobil businesses. Job Role Responsibilities
EMBSI Exposure Scientists work collaboratively with health and environmental teams to evaluate worker, consumer, and community exposures and risks associated with ExxonMobil products and operations. More than just providing expertise, exposure scientists are expected to envision and advance new assessment methodologies needed to evaluate the next generation of ExxonMobil products and processes. Typical activities include human exposure / risk assessments, application of computational tools and exposure models, analysis of scientific literature, design and execution of internal and external research programs, interpretation of exposure information for both experts and non-experts, interaction with international governmental / regulatory agencies, and participation in professional organizations and trade associations. EMBSI is committed to transparent communication of health information and encourages presentation at technical conferences and publication in peer reviewed research. Additionally, EMBSI supports continuous learning to refresh knowledge of exposure science methods and identify novel applications.
Must have broad experience and a graduate degree in Exposure Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field
Candidates must be able to work independently, embrace change, and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to achieve worldwide business objectives
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Corporate Policies and International Health and Environmental regulations
Have a strong working knowledge of exposure assessment and control approaches, models, human health risk assessment, and statistics is essential
Experience with co-exposures, air quality, epidemiology, prevention through design, and/or life cycle approaches is an advantage
The successful candidate is not required to have experience across all areas, but must have the interest and take initiative to learn and develop
This position requires extensive consultation and technical support to ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide and will require some domestic and international travel
