ExxonMobil Machinery Technician (GCGV) in Gregory, Texas

Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil is currently seeking Machinery Technicians to operate its plant facilities at its future Gulf Coast Growth Venture (GCGV) site located in Gregory, Texas area. Candidates should apply if they are willing and able to accept a permanent assignment at the future Gulf Coast Growth Venture facility at the time of startup or earlier (no requirement to temporarily train at a different ExxonMobil Chemical plant) and are willing to work for a Company that values strong job performance with periodic performance assessments.

This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires a pre-employment assessment . After applying applicants will receive the Phase I assessment via email. Please check all email folders (i.e. inbox, spam, etc.) to ensure you do not miss the communication.

  • All applicants MUST complete the pre-employment assessment requirement by Friday, Feburary 21, 2020 @ 11:59 PM.

  • Returning applicants with unexpired assessment results WILL NOT have to retake the assessment but MUST map exisiting assessment results to each application submitted by clicking on the assessment link provide in the email.

  • Applicants are responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred during the pre-employment process (e.g. airfair, hotel, relocation, etc.).

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Develop machinery equipment repair job scopes, procedures, safety and execution plans

  • Ensure compliance of applicable Safety Standards and procedures

  • Assume Permit Receiver responsibilities

  • Perform Job Loss Analysis for each job

  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul all types of Machinery equipment

  • Validate equipment repair procedures or work specifications

  • Engage in good housekeeping in work areas

  • Repair (shop repaired) spare parts and returns to stores

  • Enter equipment repair histroy and close out Work Orders

  • Update repair procedures

  • Update equipment Technical Data

  • Identify and initiate modifications to improve equipment reliability and safety

Expected Level of Proficiency

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience

  • Demonstrated prior relevant work experience or education is preferred

  • Knowledge of precision measurement tools and precision alignment tools

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Sealing methods and their mode of failure

  • Knowledge of rotating equipment - inspections preventative maintenance and repair (pumps, blowers, compressors, etc.)

  • Knowledge of operating shop equipment (drill press, band saw, lathe, etc.)

  • Knowledge of operating mobile equipment (man lift, forklift, etc).

  • Knowledge of (root cause) rotating equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis

  • Solid verbal communication skills

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, repair procedures, equipment drawings and schematics, preventative maintenance procedures, repairs and overhaul procedures

  • Ability to document troubleshooting guides, failure analysis reports and equipment repair history
