Job Summary

ExxonMobil is looking for outstanding candidates to be part of Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV) operated by the ExxonMobil Product Solutions Company (EMPSC) and contribute to the success of a safe, reliable and exciting chemical plant. Engineering/ Mechanical supervisors are an essential part of plant leadership providing direct supervision to specific groups such as process engineers, discipline engineers, SSHE personnel or mechanical personnel. They are an important link between the site business teams and the function they represent and are accountable for delivering quality support to the business teams consistent with SSHE, Reliability and Profitability objectives.

This position will be located in Gregory, Texas at the GCGV plant. As part of ExxonMobil, you can expect to rotate through two to three assignments in the first approximately six years allowing for a variety of experiences to build skills and knowledge. Demonstrated performance will lead to a career path with increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities within GCGV, other functions/business lines within EMPSC, or other divisions across ExxonMobil.

Primary Job Functions

  • Provide direct supervision to a specific group

  • Structure and guide career and skills development for direct reports

  • Appropriately leverage Senior Engineers or Practical Subject Matter Experts to provide guidance and mentor the team

  • Provide core or extended support to business drivers to improve ability to support work prioritization

  • Responsible for ensuring key Functional deliverables are met for the BT

  • Accountable for delivery of Functional Tactical Plan

  • Responsible for assigned budget and cost

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

  • +5 years manufacturing experience, petrochemical/chemical/refinery industry preferred

  • Supervisory experience preferred

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proven leadership capabilities with strong management, communication, and team working skills

  • Capable of providing technical and practical guidance and priority setting with Engineers or Front Line Supervisors

  • Analytical problem-solver with attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple interfaces and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
