ExxonMobil Business Planner / Analyst in Houston, Texas

Job Role Summary

The Business Planner / Analyst is primarily responsible for providing support to the business including accounting, external / internal stewardship, and corporate reporting activities. The Planner / Analyst may also be responsible for analytical support, insights, conclusions, and recommendations to Management, which may include analysis of margins, operating expenses and other key financial and operating KPIs associated with business performance against the annual plan. The role may also include coordination of benchmarking activities.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Participates in financial close process for Americas, including submissions and development of stewardship reports and presentations

  • Provides support for business managers in the Americas in analyzing business data and providing recommendations for improvement

  • Develops earnings reconciliations and estimates for future business line earnings, driving improvements across the business

  • Participates in competitive benchmarking activities and marketing plan development to provide insightful analysis and to highlight business profitability and opportunities for earnings improvement

  • Develops corporate plan data in teamwork with support functions, responsible for inputs into appropriate systems and assists with development of management presentations for earnings & profitability

  • Deliver corporate plan objectives, including integrating new assets into the corporate plan cycle and monthly/quarterly stewardship process

  • Coordinates cost plans for the various functions

  • Participates in financial modelling development for business strategy

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • A minimum of five years of Sales, Marketing, or Business Planning experience

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Understands supply and demand balances

  • Flexibility and adaptability to time pressures and changing priorities

  • Effective at collaboration and networking

  • Demonstrates sound business judgement

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work beyond area of responsibility

  • Effective interpersonal skills and communication across the organization

  • Strong planning / business acumen / strategic thinking
