ExxonMobil Supply Coordinator in Houston, Texas

Job Summary

  • Supply Coordination team creates value by ensuring supply reliability and revenue growth, while minimizing cost/inventory, and preventing value leakage

  • Supply Coordinator creates value by leveraging expertise in the following areas:

  • Understanding and executing contract terms effectively

  • Optimizing inventory

  • Maximizing the value of logistics

  • Scheduling timely, accurately, and efficiently

  • Ensuring timely and accurate accounting and compliance

  • Supply Coordinator is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing the end-to-end supply and logistics activity for crude and/or oil products

  • Supply Coordinator is responsible for movements via various methods of transportation (pipeline, marine, rail, truck) and may also manage inventory upstream or downstream of the refinery (primarily in pipelines and terminals)

  • Location: Spring, Texas

Primary Job Functions

  • Coordinates and communicates effectively with traders, optimizers, refineries, sales, and marketing to forecast and plan supply schedules in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Uses commercial judgment and problem solving skills to solve operational problems

  • Partners with trading and optimization to identify and capture market opportunities

  • Demonstrates commercial acumen and understanding of crude and/or product markets sharing insights with trading to generate additional value

  • Develops and executes schedules for movements of crude and/or oil products via pipeline, marine, rail, and/or truck based on projected production and demand

  • Nominates requirements to pipeline, marine, rail, or truck carriers;

  • Nominates inspectors to test vessels / tanks

  • Interacts with third parties daily to execute molecule movement

  • Manages inventory to agreed operating targets and year-end levels, while maintaining supply reliability to refinery, marketing, and/or third party customers

  • Supports development and implementation of cost-effective solutions to planned and unplanned supply disruptions

  • Develops deep understanding of optimization, logistics, market conditions, operational costs, and contract terms; serves as subject matter expert related to ExxonMobil’s supply chain for the assigned area, including logistical capabilities and limitations

  • Supports growth and management of change initiatives involving addition of new products, new business, changes to regulatory requirements, among others

  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives to grow the business and reduce logistics costs

  • Ensures adherence to credit guidelines, regulatory and quality compliance, and transportation policies (i.e. vessel screening process)

  • Serves as key interface between accounting and the business line ensuring third parties are paid accurately and timely

Job Requirements

  • Desire to have long term career in Supply Coordination

  • Prefer 10- 15 yeas work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related discipline preferred (not necessary)

  • Experience in any of the following is preferred:

  • Scheduling or coordinating petroleum supply

  • Refining, pipeline or chemicals operations

  • Scheduling or coordinating (any industry)

  • Solid proficiency in use of MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Experience in SAP, Analysis for Office, and Tableau is a plus
