ExxonMobil Facilities Engineer Advisor in Spring, TX, Texas

Job Summary

  • Fill an advanced-level Facilities engineering position in support of upstream operation sites and developing capital projects for ExxonMobil’s Technology and Engineering Company

  • Provide a leadership role in the design, reliability and optimization of LNG, gas treatment, crude oil and hydrocarbon condensates as well as water treatment systems for new or modified facilities across the company

This position based in Spring, TX

Job Responsibilities

  • Support capital projects lifecycle activities ( from facilities planning and technologies selection to startup and operations), as individual contributor or SME for assigned area of responsibility, interfacing with other disciplines

  • Support Asset Leadership, Operation and Engineering Teams on optimization strategies, facilities modification and engineering and operational risk based decisions

  • Development of resolution plans for facilities performance deficiencies, bottlenecks and integrity issues

  • Mentor less experienced facilities engineers

  • Lead and act as asset SME for troubleshooting and facility incident investigations efforts

  • Drive and participate in optimization studies, field verifications, and early equipment sizing

  • Support the development of Heat & Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, for new facilities in the Facilities Planning Stage

  • Cold-eye participation for facilities and systems reviews and resolutions as required, including P&ID, HAZOP, 3D Models, Control and Safety Instrumented System reviews

  • Participation in field-based activities to support systems completion, turnover, and start-up

Job Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot upstream operations) and provide resolution plans

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams as well as possess strong technical skills to provide guidance to more junior team members

  • Effective interface and cross-functional management skills to help incorporate input from various technical specialties into facilities optimization or design. This may include interfacing with management, operations personnel, project teams and various technical specialists

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • B.S. (or higher) degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, required

  • At least ten years of experience in the Upstream Facilities Operation or Design

  • Business trips domestic or international are expected to be at least 10% of the time

  • Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as required, including internationally

  • Interest in a long term career within Technical disciplines on Facilities Engineering

  • Use of Aspen Hysys software and equipment design tools

  • Experience with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) processes and major capital projects is a plus

  • Familiar with Management of Change system and Risk evaluation

  • Experience in Upstream Operations support is a plus
