ExxonMobil State Tax Controversy Lead in Spring, TX, Texas

Job Role Summary

The state tax controversy lead will be well-versed in multi-state income, franchise, property, and indirect tax controversy matters, and have experience working on state and local tax protests, administrative appeals and tax litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions. The state tax controversy lead will possess strong tax research skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills and be proficient in performing detailed data analysis related to controversy matters. The position will support state income and franchise tax audits, and manage all aspects of state income and franchise, property and sales and use tax appeals and litigation, including drafting detailed protests, responding to information document requests, participating in informal/administrative hearings process, performing risk assessments, negotiating resolutions and supporting outside counsel in tax litigation matters. The position will have broad interaction within the tax department colleagues and management, corporate finance and business unit personnel, state tax officials and outside counsel.

The position is located in Spring, TX.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience

  • Minimum of a Juris Doctorate
