Job Role Summary

Primary Job Description

  • Define platform and product strategy and roadmaps to meet current and future requirements

  • Create conceptual, logical, and system architecture diagrams to clarify as-is and to-be designs

  • Perform technology health assessments, identify gaps, and advocate for prioritization and funding

  • Understand and evangelize enterprise principles, mandates, and security best practices

  • Create digital strategies to complement business strategies, transforming as-is architecture to a future-state architecture, highlighting opportunities and risks, prioritizing digital initiatives, and developing roadmaps

  • Explore, assess, and socialize emerging products and capabilities to meet business needs

  • Conduct code reviews, security reviews, architectural reviews, and provide solutions/improvements, as necessary

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to accelerate growth of technical talent

Job Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment across teams including software developers, domain experts, support analysts, business contacts

  • Lead and Govern platform authorization configuration, authentication, licensing requirements, application security models, data encryption, protocols, legacy authentication and apply modern authentication e.g. oAuth

  • Understanding of software engineering best practices for code quality and maintainability and automated testing

  • Knowledge of end-to-end DevOps practices using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT system development, architecture, and solution design

Nice to Have Skills

  • Prior work experience in the upstream oil and gas industry

  • Experience driving architectural transformation or technology change within a large multinational company.

  • Experience or certification in TOGAF or another enterprise architecture methodology/standard.

  • Experience in conceptual and logical data modeling and application design.

  • Good grasp of the REST architectural style and experience implementing REST APIs

  • Experience building, deploying, and supporting applications on Cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google
