ExxonMobil Emerging Contaminants Project Manager in Spring, Texas
Key Deliverables of Position
Support sites with emerging contaminant issues across multiple jurisdictions. Includes review of technical documents, site support for regulatory discussions, and technical support for survey / sample plan development and/or treatment / remedial options
Coordinate interfaces with site Project Managers, Technical Advisors, Law, and Engineering for all sites with emerging contaminant issues
Steward compliance obligations on a site and portfolio basis related to emerging contaminants on a regular basis
Provide routine updates to the Environmental Solutions leadership team, Regional teams and Issue Management Team
Collaborate with emerging contaminant interfaces across research partners and business lines
Primary Functions / Responsibilities
Work with EM Law on CERCLA liability review to help create position / strategy regarding emerging contaminants
Meet with site Project Managers and Technical Advisors to understand scope of emerging contaminant inquiry at individual sites
Assist in the development of site ‘path to closure’ and plans to address emerging contaminants to optimize outcomes for ExxonMobil and apply consistent remedies
Interface with technical advisors to identify and implement any studies, research or pilot activities to support emerging contaminant technologies and approaches
Coordinate and provide strategic and technical support for development, review and approvals of all emerging contaminant regulatory orders and other agreements
Monitor and ensure compliance with all executed emerging contaminant regulatory orders and other governance agreements
Develop and steward cost and schedule budgets for relevant work scopes
Analyze the emerging contaminant portfolio for common themes and learnings
Input/support to possible environmental claims / lawsuits
Comply with all corporate and E&PS-specific business controls requirements
Skills, Experience and Business Accomplishments
University degree and 10+ years relevant remediation work experience with experience in emerging contaminants preferred
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Self-motivated, ability to manage travel, adapt to time pressures, and changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships with emphasis on collaboration in a project environment
Demonstrated knowledge of negotiation skills techniques
Sound business judgment and ability to make timely decisions
Ability to create high quality work products
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations and use standards such as CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, SDWA, REACH
Demonstrated remedial technical background
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental remediation technology and methodologies
Knowledge of ExxonMobil Control Policies & Procedures (OIMS, CIMS)
Available for periodic travel
