Job Summary

The AM (America’s) Improve Advisor, as part of the Supply Chain Planning & Optimization team, has the overall responsibility to serve as the ExxonMobil Chemical Company’s (EMCC) functional contact to multiple business units for the purpose of improving (mainly) America’s Logistical & Distribution (L&D) operational activities. The AM Improve Advisor will be located in Spring, TX, and will support and enhance EMCC’s Logistics & Distribution end-to-end supply chain processes and systems while working in close collaboration with L&D user community, EMCC business units, business systems support (DAS), and ExxonMobil IT. This position will maintain an advanced level of Supply Chain systems and process expertise by leveraging broad relationships within the Supply Chain Industry, and will report to the Global Process Integration & Improve Manager.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Lead discretionary improve project development and facilitates implementation activities

  • Creates solution alternatives for Supply Chain and BU stakeholders, and manages the stage / gate process for each project

  • Facilitates input and activity with all functions within a project, including procurement sourcing, manufacturing, and all Supply Chain areas

  • Works improvement of base supply chain knowledge and processes through cross functional and cross business activity, especially in their general area of expertise

  • Act as a knowledgeable resource or Subject Matter Expert in a designated area of Supply Chain activity and distributes that knowledge through training, training development, and mentoring

  • Lead and drive Improvement activities through development, implementation, and execution

  • Develop processes to facilitate future improve activity streamlining

  • Applies data to make more informed decisions using available tools (e.g., JMP, Power BI, Tableau)

  • Communicate improve recommendations to functional and business stakeholders, and facilitate decision making

  • Train, mentor, coach and develop competency skill sets in Supply Chain

  • Ensure best practices are implemented, executed and sustained; maintain and deliver relevant training

  • Assure compliance with controls, and operations integrity management standards and requirements

Job Requirements

  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent degree / work experience

  • Willing to travel

  • Flexible and adaptable to various working conditions and environments

  • Demonstrated work experience in design, build, and start-up of new business and operations processes / systems

  • Proven capability of the management of change adoption rate / pace

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects that include handling multiple priorities and stakeholders

  • Proficiency in the use of technology and possesses excellent administrative and organizational competencies

  • Proven ability to manage short deadlines, emergency situations and break-ins

  • Has demonstrated flexibility to manage / address simultaneous multiple tasks

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Coaching & mentoring skills

  • Working knowledge of, and experience in, on-time-delivery (OTD) and service level differentiation (SLD)

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP systems and architecture. Experience with relevant SaaS applications is preferred

  • Strong communication, change management, and analytical / data skills

  • Experience in the principles of Continuous Improvement processes - strategically focused, tactically experienced

  • Strong influencing skills, with / without authority; self-starter

  • Demonstrated work experience in multi-modal end-to-end logistics processes
