ExxonMobil MRO Category Manager in Spring, Texas

Job Role Summary

The Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Category Manager has overall responsibility to drive value, efficiency and expand market advantage from strategy to implementation, while ensuring operational integrity and people development. This position is responsible for a global portfolio. Key business partner interfaces are the Downstream, Midstream and Upstream.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and owns category specific strategies and commercial guidance to deliver business value

• Coordinates with other Category Managers for the development and implementation of category specific strategies and commercial guidance

• Leverage and share market intelligence to enhance effectiveness of commercial decisions

• Develop category total system cost models to support commercial activity

• Supplier relationship management with key strategic suppliers

• Ensure strategy penetration into contracts and bids by advising and mentoring contract owners

• Supports contract development (standardized templates, scopes of work, compensation, bid evaluations, etc.), ensuring transactional efficiency

• Identify business value and contract rationalization opportunities within the portfolio

• Creates and maintains category planning sites and tools to drive value for category

• Participates in Procurement category and business lines technical networks

• Establishes and deploys category training plans

• Utilizes Opportunity Identification processes to fill value pipeline

• Execute Procurement processes in full compliance with ExxonMobil controls culture

Job Requirements

• BS, MS in Supply Chain or other applicable degree

• A minimum of 5 years contracting experience

• A minimum of 5 years Oil and Gas or procurement experience

• MRO market knowledge and category expertise, including understanding of key market players and dynamics

• Strategic thinking and relevant Supplier Relationship Management experience

• Relevant negotiation experience, including terms & conditions

• Travel along Gulf Coast and/or Internationally when required

• Facilitation skills; ability to manage virtual business networks

• Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills

• Strong communication skills, inclusive of delivering presentations to senior level management

• Knowledge of purchase to pay processes
