ExxonMobil Planning and Scheduling Optimization Engineer in Spring, Texas

Job Role Summary

Join ExxonMobil's Technology and Engineering Company as a planning and scheduling optimization engineer. Become part of an interdisciplinary team to develop, deploy and sustain planning and scheduling applications for the global Refining and Chemicals businesses. In this role you will hone your skills in one or more manufacturing and supply logistics planning and scheduling optimization technologies. You will work to apply optimization and simulation utilizing commercial and proprietary modeling approaches, contribute to R&D initiatives and develop next generation solution techniques focused on value generation. Job Role Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and commission offline optimization applications

  • Provide specialist application consulting and technical support to affiliates worldwide for new and deployed applications, including model troubleshooting and assistance with model convergence, model and economic information updates, and interpreting optimization

  • Provide technical leadership through technical training, work process reviews and best practice implementations

  • Closely work with manufacturing sites, process engineering, business stakeholders & business support functions to identify new opportunities, define the scope, cost, benefits and project schedule for new as well as revamped applications

  • Support R&D activities in modeling, offline optimization and overlapping technologies

  • Position could require 5-10% travel (domestic and/or international)

Job Requirements

  • BS / MS in an engineering discipline

  • Degrees in Data Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Math, or related fields will be considered & are encouraged to apply

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • 5+ years prior industrial experience in Planning and/or Scheduling optimization

  • Preference given to those with experience in commercial modeling / optimization platforms such as AspenTech PIMS, AspenTech ORION / APS, AIMMS, Spiral CrudeSuite, Spiral Plan and Schedule etc.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, accuracy, effectiveness, and self-confidence

  • Demonstrations of leadership and mentoring abilities

  • Experience in hydrocarbon processing or supply chain optimization

  • Understanding of key economic decisions in hydrocarbon processing supply chain is a plus
