ExxonMobil Unconventional Category Manager - Materials & Services in Spring, Texas

Job Role Summary

Drive value, efficiency and expanded market advantage via end-to-end commodity management, while ensuring operational integrity. This role supports the procurement needs for the Unconventinal Materials (OCTG, Wellhead, tubulars, etc) commodity within XTO.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Supports end to end purchase to pay process for Uncon Wells Materials & Services activities to include:

  • OCTG and Wellhead market forecasting forecasting

  • Strategy for Procurement of Uncon Materials (OCTG/WH)

  • Strategy for Procurement of Uncon Services (Cementing/Directional Drilling/Mud)

  • Interface management between providers and Business Units

• Support Procurement Organization in development and implementation of commodity specific strategic and commercial guidance

• Develop, leverage, and share market intelligence to enhance effectiveness of commercial decisions

• Develop commodity total system cost models for the commodity to support commercial activity

• Develop and maintain portfolio of agreements supporting Uncon Wells materials requirements

• Lead RFQ development and evaluation, negotiations, supplier selection, and award recommendations

• Execute sourcing events, spot bidding, or other commercial activities related to the commodity

• Support operations with planning requirements

• Steward key operational and supplier performance metrics

• Process execution, full compliance with XTO controls culture

• Interface with Drilling Management and Engineers

• Supplier relationship management

• Identify business value and agreement rationalization opportunities within the portfolio

• Ensure transactional efficiency of agreements

Job Requirements

• BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degree

• Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

• A minimum of 5 years contracting experience

• A minimum of 5 years Oil and Gas or procurement experience

• Flexibility to travel to Midland as required. Option available to be based out of Midland and commute to Houston as required

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Procurement / Commercial functional expertise

• Self-motivated with the ability to oversee and motivate others and influence decisions

• Capable of identifying problems and recommending alternative solutions

• Ability to work with minimal supervisor in a fast paced environment

• Understanding of Unconventional Oil and Gas business

• Familiarity with/experience in procurement for the oil and gas industry

• Leadership skills

• Communication skills

• Analytical skills / understanding of total system cost concept

• Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills

• Knowledge of purchase to pay process including enterprise resource planning systems

• Commodity specific knowledge including unconventional OCTG and wellheads
